Posted this to My Tumblr yesterday, thought I'd post here, too! Boogle as she was drawn in 2007 vs a picture of her I just finished. She’s changed a lot, as you can see. I think she has a more realistic, weighted look, and looks more like me, which is good since she IS me. Her hair is longer and more doll-like and her flesh, when visible, is more purpley-toned and less human-looking, which is also good since she isn’t technically human. Her outfits are more whimsical and girly, as well.
Anyway, I just found this when sifting through old art, and thought it’d be fun to re-do it, since I don’t think I’ve drawn her juggling since the old version!
I like that she's a bigger (girl? since she's not human lol) It's too easy and common to draw thin and overly sexy characters, but it's much more pleasing and refreshing to see characters with some meat on their bones! Although it is NOT easy to draw! So awesome job and great improvement over the years!
I adore them both, but yes, the newer version is much more 'You-ish' with the coloring and those amazing shoes!!! Facial expression as well, is more you now.... Again, it's tough to choose, so I won't...love them both, but the newer version is definitely much more cheery and bright and a major happy feel to it...(love the Kitty Monster on the knee, too...)
It's always cool to see who one's art style can change over the years. Nicely done! Even thou I prefer 07' Boogle. I find her more... approachable than the more current Nightmare inducing Boogle I KID! I KID! No one can pick favorites! Anyways, Nicely done!
...are you sure you're not mixing the two up? LOL I think the older one is far more spooky/dark than the new one, what with the darker hair in messy dreadlocks and all, and the newer one being "brighter" and with more pastels and whimsical appeal. I personally feel strongly that she looks FAR more like a traditional, pleasant clown now :>
